I’ve also heard Abe Lincoln say, “Pray like it all depends on God, and work like it all depends on you.”
Both of these are powerful statements implying that we can’t do everything. All we can do is give our best effort, then allow others (or God) to do what they can.
As leaders the only thing we can do is:
- Perform our best
- Serve our people the best we can
- Prepare them the best we can
- Equip them the best we can
- Develop them the best we can
Then allow them to do the rest from there.
Once we’ve done the best we can, then it’s out of our hands and it’s up to them to keep going and to do there best from that point forward.
Hello,
I have to say, I’m not the most religious person but I really liked this article. It shows me that inspiration can be drawn from anything, even a reality TV show about tattoo artists, and reminds me to look for business and life lessons everywhere. It also made me think about how truly important it is to have faith in something, whatever it may be.
