Leadership Link - In Times of Volatility

For a few months I've been listening to Dan Mulhern's Everyday Leadership podcast. It's a syndicated podcast from his weekly radio show in Michigan.

Last week Dan shared some insight on the volatile times that we're having in our country right now.

His post, In Times of Volatility outlines three steps to effective leadership in volatile times. They are:

    1. Be more visible
    2. Interpret reality in a larger context
    3. Focus people's attention on things that make a difference

I would add to your post that in times of turmoil leaders must be adaptable. Leaders with adaptive capacity have the ability to grasp the big picture and make changes that help move their organizations forward. Adaptable leaders take an honest assessment of their situations and then lead forward with courage.

Thanks for adding your perspective on "Adaptable Leadership."

That's in interesting view; one that I agree with.

I want to jump in and say that I only believe you can successfully be adaptable if you have spent a significant amount of time preparing.

Preparing both inside and outside of your organization for the economic booms and economic bombs.
