The December Giving Carnival will be hosted here with a thanks to Sean Stannard-Stockton for creating the idea. Here is the main question and general topic for December:
"How much does the leadership of an Executive Director or C.E.O. affect fundraising?"
Below is a list of my favorite quotes that will define the meaning of "leadership" for you.
"Leadership is influence. That's it. Nothing more; nothing less." - John C. Maxwell
"You can be given a title, but you have to earn followers" - Mark Sanborn
"Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall." - Stephen R. Covey
"Real leadership is being the person others will gladly and confidently follow. - John C. Maxwell
"Managing is power over people but leadership is power with people." - Mark Sanborn
What are your thoughts on how leadership effects the fundraising capacity of a nonprofit? Does it make a difference? If so, why is leadership important to successful grant writers, campaign managers, and the "ask" which is made for a large private donation?
Send your submissions to me at Christopher.Lynn.Scott[at]gmail[dot]com with a link to your blog. If you don't have a blog, send me the post in a Word Doc. and I will post it for you. All submission must be received by December 20th.

Thanks for hosting. Good luck with the Carnival.
