Meetings are one of the biggest activities that non-profits participate in on a daily basis. With all of the fundraisers, BOD meetings, grant writing research, and other reasons to have a meeting, non-profits need to become extremely efficient & productive in their meetings. We need to find ways to keep them short, productive, and efficient. Here are several tips that I have put together for non-profits to help you have dynamic meetings:
- Start on time
- Bring extra agendas, paper, and pens
- Let everyone know what the purpose of the meeting is
- Make sure that someone is in charge of running the meeting
- Give out the agenda to the meeting at least one day ahead of time
- Never end the meeting until everyone’s voice has been heard on all topics
- Never leave a meeting until every single person is clear on what he is supposed to do before the next meeting
